LASIK is a common eye surgery that corrects refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. During the LASIK procedure, the surgeon uses a laser to create a flap on the surface of the eye (the cornea) then uses another laser to reshape the cornea to correct the vision.

Also, when you enter the LASIK suite, your prescription and pictures of each of your eyes are pre-loaded into the laser. As a part of your procedure, the laser will take a picture of your eye to match the picture loaded into the laser. It has to be an exact match to treat – it is 100% impossible to treat your eye with another person’s prescription or even treat your right eye with your left eye’s prescription (and vice versa.) It is an extremely safe procedure.
