DANIEL D. BROWNSTONE, M.D.
Dr. Daniel Brownstone came to VisionPoint Eye Center after practicing at Eye Surgical Associates for 24 years. Before moving to Central Illinois, he served in the United States Air Force as chief of the ophthalmology department at Scott Air Force Base Medical Center. Dr. Brownstone earned his Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1981 and his Doctor of Medicine degree at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1988. In 1992 he completed his ophthalmology residency at Boston University School of Medicine.

CATHARINE J. CROCKETT, M.D.
Dr. Catharine Crockett practiced at Eye Surgical Associates for 22 years before joining VisionPoint Eye Center. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, in 1979. In her junior year at the Indiana University School of Medicine, she was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received her Doctor of Medicine degree with Highest Distinction there in 1986. She completed her ophthalmology residency training at the Wills Eye Hospital in 1990 and then continued her education with fellowship training in cornea and external disease at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

CHINTAN A. PATHAK, M.D.
Dr. Chintan Pathak joined VisionPoint Eye Center in October of 2023. Born in Chicago and raised in Tinley Park, Dr. Pathak pursued his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. He holds his Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Most recently, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

SCOTT M. PINTER, M.D.
Dr. Scott Pinter originally from Central Illinois, joined VisionPoint Eye Center after practicing at Eye Surgical Associates for 21 yeas. He completed his residency training at the prestigious W.K. Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He graduated with high honors, receiving his Bachelor of Science at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana in 1990, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. His Doctor of Medicine degree was bestowed in 1994 from the Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri. While in medical school, Dr. Pinter was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

BLADELESS LASIK

BENEFITS

LASIK is a two-step surgery in which a thin layer of the cornea is lifted and the inner cornea is sculpted to correct its shape and allow for better vision. When both steps are done with lasers instead of blades, the surgery is called iLASIK. This is the only form of LASIK surgery performed at VisionPoint Eye Center because it is quicker, more accurate than any other method.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will be in our office 45 minutes – 1 hour the day of your procedure. We will review your post operative drops and instructions prior to your procedure. You will then be escorted to our iLASIK suite. Numbing eye drops will be instilled in both eyes to keep them comfortable throughout your procedure. Your treatment time will depend on your amount of prescription but generally will take less than a minute per eye.
